Hemming Village on West 2nd South in Rexburg is hosting its annual Hocus Pocus Halloween event this Thursday, and there are plenty of activities and events for the whole family.

“Here at Hemming properties, we love, love, love Halloween. It is our big day of the year,” said Aubree Condie, the property manager at Hemming Village in an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio. “Every year we have a different theme. This year our theme is Superheroes at Hemming Village, and essentially, it’s just a giant Halloween party at Hemming Village.”

The entire community is invited, and it is completely free for all to attend.

There will be a plethora of activities, such as trick-or-treating, a rock wall, vendors, photobooth and face painting.

This year’s theme of “Superheroes” was inspired by two main things.

“We have a lot of people on our team that love the Avengers, DC and the comic books,” Condie said. “Because it’s all about giving back to the community, we also wanted to highlight some of our real-life heroes, so we’ve invited the fire department, the state police, the sheriff’s office, and some of our local veterans to come and give out candy.”

Attendees are invited to wear costumes and they don’t disappoint.

“People really go all-out when they come,” Condie said. “We see the coolest costumes. They’re super intricate, family and solo costumes. We usually have an average of about 5,000 people that come through.”

It may be busy, but Condie says attending is worth it.

“It’s just really good family fun,” Condie said. “We have so much candy, and when I say so much candy, I mean so much candy, that we just want to give away. There is so many cool things to see. It’s a very involved and fun Halloween event, and people can come for as long or as little as they like.”

The event will take place Thursday from 4-7 p.m. on West 2nd South in Rexburg, which will be closed all day.
